car-repair-stockton
If you’re constantly on the road, it’s easy to determine when things aren’t going well with your vehicle. One of the first signs of trouble – your vehicle shaking when you drive. While there could be a number of factors at work, you may have some unexpected things going on. Your problems may be due to the road, or construction in a certain area, but if the problem doesn’t subside, it’s something more. Here are 4 quick reasons why your vehicle may be shaking:

Tires

Most people don’t realize how important tires are – beyond the fact that you need them to drive. If your wheels are out of alignment, or the tire pressure is off, your tires will not perform as they should, and you may experience a bumpy ride. Rocks, nails, or other items that catch in the grooves of your tires can also change the outcome of your ride. Start with the basics and move on from there. A mechanic should be able to pinpoint the problem and offer a solution to get you back on track.

Suspension

You may have never heard of the suspension of an automobile, but it’s definitely there. It’s an integral part of how it runs. How does it work? It keeps your tired on the road, contributing to a smooth ride. When you start noticing your car bouncing around, or your vehicle leaning too much to one side, there is a problem that is probably contributing to the shaking.

Transmission

Transmission issues are the WORST. If you start having problems when shifting gears, chances are you are staring to have issues in that area. When you start feeling the bumpiness of gear changes, or you have problems accelerating, don’t wait – it’s definitely time to visit the mechanic to find out what’s going on. The longer you wait, the more money you could end up spending on getting it repaired.

Brakes

Do you hear squeaking or moaning every time you brake? Are you experiencing a bumpy stop? If you are starting to have difficulty whenever you try and stop, your brakes may be about to give. Since your brakes are the only way you can operate normally in traffic, it’s best to get it checked out as soon as you can. Letting the problem persist will only give you headaches as time passes.

These are just 4 things to consider, but there could be other factors at play. The weather conditions or terrain could also contribute to a bumpy ride, but chances are it’s something to do with your vehicle. Be proactive and look into things as soon as you feel something is not right. Waiting too long may result in a snowball effect, adding other items into the assessment. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. You’ll have peace of mind and can thank yourself for avoiding expensive and extensive repairs.
